Jodie, Team Leader at Stoke House, is celebrating 5 years with Mentaur

September 30, 2015

Jodie is one of our Team Leaders at Stoke House in Northamptonshire. Last week, she celebrated her 5th year anniversary working at Mentaur. We spoke with Jodie to find out more about her experiences over the last 5 years.

Before Mentaur, what sort of industry did you work in?

I’d just finished my psychology degree when I started working for Mentaur, so I came to the company straight out of university! At the time I was considering further education, but wanted to gain some work experience, and the role available at Mentaur was exactly what I was looking for.

What do you most enjoy about working at Mentaur?

There’s lots of things I enjoy about working here, but above all else it is so rewarding to be able to support the people you care for to a more independent way of life. Since I have worked with Mentaur I have progressed from Support Worker to Team Leader, but even working at a more senior level, the people we care for are at the centre of everything we do.

What would you say to people considering a role at Mentaur?

Mentaur as a company have a lot to offer someone seeking a fresh challenge in a new career. People working here are offered a real opportunity for further training and development at every turn, meaning staff, with hard work and commitment, can progress their career quickly. I’ve always felt supported by Mentaur; when my twins were born, Mentaur offered me the opportunity to return to work part time, giving me the vital flexibility and support I needed. Teamwork and family will always be at the heart of Mentaur, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next 5 years will bring!
